The Haunting of M.E., a ghost story

I’m not going to scream, I told myself although panic shot through my body like a jolt of lightning.

My heart pounded. My throat tightened. I peered intensely in every direction in the dark woods but there was no sign of my tent or my family. I was utterly and profoundly lost in the middle of Algonquin Park.

Somewhere in Algonquin Park, a 3,000 square mile forest in northern Ontario, Canada, wanders fourteen year-old Mary Elizabeth.

Separated from her family during a weekend camping trip, M.E.'s journey takes her to some of the uncharted territory of her own soul that ends with a haunting twist.

"M.E. really changed during the story by like in the beginning she was mean, she hated her step dad and was obsessed with her initials. But in the middle of the story she starts being nicer and she thinks about how she was really mean to her mom and Dave."-- Francesca, grade 4

"I like M.E. because she is strong. She stayed out in the woods by herself. I could not do that."--Erika, grade 4

"One thing I loved about your book was how M.E. never gave up like when she hurt her rib. That really surprised me. This makes me realize that M.E. is strong."--Tyler, grade 4

"I enjoyed the parts when she started to realize that it was not all about her."--Trysten, grade 4

"I would tell Uncle Gregg to read The Haunting of M.E."--Brandon, grade 4

"I finally purchased The Haunting of M.E on my Kindle. I am halfway and I must say I love it! It is well written, easy to read and I can't wait for my daughter to be a little older for her to read it. The book does a good job of transporting me to the forest where the events are taking place, and I can picture the scenes described in the book like I am right there with the character. It is making for an excellent read."--Coletta Zenker

"...As for family friendliness, definitely rates a 5 out of 5. This is one of those campfire stories you can tell the kids before they have to slip into the darkness to go find their tents. Muahaha…"--Linda Harley. To see the full review (including SPOILER) please visit http://www.rosebuz.com/?p=1413
